Barishal University Research Society (BURS) is thrilled to announce the upcoming Interdisciplinary Idea Contest: “Bangladesh 2.0: Interdisciplinary Ideas for National Progress” on October 26, 2024, at the Jibanananda Das Conference Hall, University of Barishal, Bangladesh. This innovative competition aims to inspire students from diverse academic fields to collaborate and develop groundbreaking ideas that address Bangladesh’s most pressing challenges. By leveraging interdisciplinary perspectives, participants will have the chance to present innovative solutions in areas such as education, technology, infrastructure, governance, and social development.

 Event Highlights:

1. Opening Ceremony: The event will commence with a welcome address by the Chief Advisor of BURS, outlining the contest’s theme and objectives.
2. Team Presentations: 25 teams from various departments will present their innovative ideas, followed by a 2-minute Q&A session with the judges.
3. Judging Panel Evaluation: Expert judges will evaluate presentations based on creativity, feasibility, relevance, and impact.
4. Networking Break: Participants will have the opportunity to connect with judges, faculty, and peers over refreshments.
5. Expert Panel Discussion: Renowned experts will discuss the importance of interdisciplinary approaches to national progress.
6. Keynote Address: A distinguished speaker will deliver insights on the future of Bangladesh and the role of innovation in national development.
7. Award Ceremony: The top three teams will be awarded certificates and crests, with selected ideas from each faculty highlighted for potential implementation.
8. Closing Remarks: The event will conclude with a summary of key takeaways and encouragement for ongoing collaboration.
9. Group Photo Session: A commemorative group photo will be taken to capture the spirit of the event.

Contest Structure:

– Eligibility: Open to all regular students of Barishal University.

– Team Composition: Teams of 3 members from each department.

– Maximum Teams: 25 teams.

– Proposal Submission: Teams must submit a brief proposal outlining their innovative ideas.

– Presentation Round: Selected proposals will advance to the presentation round.

– Format: Each team will have 5 minutes to present their idea, followed by a 2-minute Q&A session.

– Judging Panel: Comprised of one judge from each faculty.

– Evaluation Criteria: Creativity, feasibility, and potential impact of the ideas.

Registration Process:

– Idea Submission Deadline: September 30, 2024

– Abstract Submission: Maximum of 300 words (including objective, problem statement, proposed solution, expected impact)

– Registration Fee: 150 BDT
